Fujairah Municipality Obtains ISO 20000 in the Field of Information Technology
Within the framework of its efforts and commitment to
provide modern information services at the highest levels of quality and the
best methods and practices specialized in the field of information technology
recognized internationally to its employees and customers from various segments
of society, Fujairah Municipality obtained the international accreditation ISO
(ISO 20000-1: 2018) yesterday.
Eng. Mohammed Saif Al-Afkham, Director General of Fujairah Municipality, said, "Obtaining the certificate comes as an additional step in the series of continuous efforts to develop internal work systems in line with the main directions of the Fujairah government to exploit and employ the latest technology. The Municipality has succeeded in meeting all the requirements of (ISO 20000), which is considered an exceptional achievement for it, as this certificate is considered a high standard of its kind in the world regarding the quality of management processes that aim to ensure the provision of information technology services to external and internal customers in an effective manner".
The Municipality is keen to apply international best practices in the field of information technology, and to raise the efficiency of systems and applications that are applied in the Municipality by applying international standards related to information technology.
It is noteworthy that the Municipality has fulfilled all the criteria required to obtain a certificate of conformity to the international standard "ISO 20000", after the information technology department in the Municipality implemented a number of initiatives to implement and develop all the policies and procedures required to obtain the certificate. The Information Technology Section reviewed pioneering experiences in this field, and began formulating, approving and implementing supportive policies, in preparation for obtaining the ISO certification.
