TNS NANO IS CONSOLIDATED IN THE NATIONAL MARKET AND EXPORTS NANOTECHNOLOGY TO ALL CONTINENTS
The flagship of the company is one of the first antiviral additives in the Americas
created to inactivate the new coronavirus on surfaces
Specialized in developing sustainable and innovative chemical solutions for the industry, TNS Nano is a Brazilian scale-up responsible for the elaboration and production of one of the first antiviral additives produced in the Americas. This product is capable of inactivating the novel Coronavirus in only 30 seconds.
In the market since 2009, TNS Nano is also present in all continents, exporting its technology to a portfolio of customers in 16 countries. Additives are transported in liquid form by ship to Central America and in resin form by air to European countries.
With a monthly production of more than 30 tons of antimicrobial additives, TNS Nano's technical and scientific manager is Alexsandra Valério, Ph.D. in nanotechnology, biotechnology, and polymers.
TNS Nano's products are based on nanotechnology and can be applied in the most diverse industries, such as textiles, polymers, foams, filters, paints, ceramics, coatings, agro, care, and others, making the service life of treated products increase.
In September 2021, TNS registered a 233% increase compared to 2020 with exports. France, Italy, Guatemala, and Colombia are some of the countries that already import TNS Nano products for local application.
In the first half of this year, TNS additives for the textile sector outside Brazil, for example, met the production volume equivalent to 312 thousand T-shirts added with an antimicrobial material.
To meet market demand, TNS Nano has increased overall production by 426% since February 2020. In addition, to cope with the high demand abroad, the company is expanding its team with researchers and commercial specialists. This year, the team had a 40% growth compared to the previous year.
TNS Nano's expectation for 2021 is to achieve growth of at least 105% compared to the previous year, with a focus on the export process of additives based on green chemistry. "Investments in the order of R$3 million were made to implement the growth plan, with this, we are going to expand our sales channel through the launch of new products inside and outside the country", explains Yasmin Tessele, controller of the company.
THE ANTIVIRAL PRODUCT
The company also welcomes the search for other items with antiviral. The addition of TNS compounds to final products is intended to prevent cross-contamination, that is, contamination occurring by those who come into contact with a contaminated surface or product. The antiviral additive, as it contains state-of-the-art nanotechnology, has also been much sought after for use in disinfecting containers and environments.
SUSTAINABLE SEALS AND CERTIFICATIONS
The antiviral technology of TNS Nano was one of the factors that led the company to be recognized as #1 in the Cleantech and Materials segment in the ranking of 100 Open Startups. In 2014, the recognition also came in agribusiness due to the work with additives for seeds and foliar fertilizers.
TNS Nano also has three records that confirm the company's commitment to environmental preservation. The first one was obtained in 2020 when TNS received MOSS Earth, which certifies companies that are carbon neutral. The other two came in 2021: Veolia, which recognizes good practices related to waste management, and OEKO-TEX®? which proves the environmental and toxicological safety of the antiviral assets that TNS applies to fabrics.
